About
Who is Shawn J. Moore?
Shawn Moore (he/him) guides movement builders and leaders toward stillness, enabling them to lead with wisdom and compassion by creating sacred spaces for renewal, self-inquiry, and disruption. Shawn is a Contemplative Learning & Development Strategist specializing in mindfulness, social equity, and strengths-based leadership programs, and creator of The Mindful Rebel® brand. For over 15 years, he has guided students, practitioners, teams, and organizations to discover how pausing and embracing stillness can catalyze sustainable individual and social change.
His approach integrates evidence-based practices with experiential insight disciplines, pioneering curricula that skillfully blend mindfulness-based interventions and leadership theory—demonstrably improving individual performance, team dynamics, and decision-making across organizations. As a Gallup-Certified Strengths Coach, he has empowered diverse clients to leverage their natural talents, resulting in enhanced impact and authentic collaboration. This work is deepened through his extensive background in developing and leading social equity and healing justice training programs, where leadership development meets community engagement.
Rooted in the Shambhala lineage, Shawn is a dedicated practitioner of Buddhist wisdom and contemplative traditions, having taken both his refuge and bodhisattva vows. He brings his compassion and insight to the intersection of Dharma, leadership, and embodied action. With nearly two decades of personal Dharma practice informing his work, Shawn alchemizes several modalities to support transformative learning as a practitioner, teacher trainer, and leader in meditation, restorative yoga (E-RYT® 500, YACEP®), sound healing, and yoga nidra.
Shawn has had the privilege of contributing to and collaborating with a diverse range of clients, from companies like Blue Origin and Spotify, social impact organizations like the Human Rights Campaign and the Center for Urban and Racial Equity, and wellness entities like Sounds True One and Embodied Philosophy, as well as celebrities like Questlove and Dyllón Burnside.
“True intelligence operates silently. Stillness is where creativity and solutions to problems are found.”
His experience designing theory-based experiential learning curricula and specialized training programs is rooted in over a decade of work at distinguished institutions, including Morehouse College and Savannah College of Art and Design, where he served as a student affairs practitioner and senior leader. His expertise in training and development is exemplified through his creation and leadership of transformative programs: the Inward Illumination™ Meditation Leader Training Program, Chill So Hard™ Yoga Nidra and Restorative Yoga Leadership Training, and the co-created Regenerative Healer: Leading Through Nature, Energy, and Sound Healing Training Program. These programs have successfully graduated skilled, heart-centered, and authentic leaders who are now holding sacred space for transformation in their respective communities.
Whether facilitating workshops, leading training programs, curating conversations on The Mindful Rebel® Podcast, or providing one-on-one coaching, Shawn's mission remains consistent: mindfully holding space for leaders to align their strengths, intention, and impact to create the change they envision for the world. He is also the author of Sound is My Sanctuary: A Practical Guide to Sound Healing as a Portal for Self-Exploration.
When not holding space for transformation, you'll find Shawn being a proud dog dad, immersed in gaming, sipping a good oolong tea, or exploring the world of anime—finding balance between purpose and play.
